Vinyl is evocative...Vinyl is large speakers in smoke filled rooms..vinyl is knowing every scratch...You remember where you brought every piece of vinyl you own....Every coffee stain and spliff burn on the sleeve is a memory...Every album cover reminds you of a chapter from your past...
Somehow CD's and MP3's will never stir the soul in the same way...

We need a whole lot more of Jah Jah and a lot less rock and roll.

Most of the tunes coming out these days are such bad quality production sound. Recorded from mp3s and the like and its so harsh on the ears, unlike vinyl thats warm and has depth. It seems people are not interested in the productions and quality of sound these days.
Its not how many records you got, its the quality of the tunes.
peace

if you got a whole heap of records but they are crap or you no even utilize the message/vibe, then you might as well not have them.
one roots record of purity and truth holds more power than all the slack/badness/etc records combined!

Too lazy to count. Need a new shelf for cd´s plus another one for vinyls.
@Mad Amigo: This is pure poetry, I agree!
@NM: Check some vinyl. This allows you full enjoyment. It´s the very original reggae format.
Record hunting and collecting is phenomenal. What a wonderful feeling to buy a rare record you have been searching for 20 years.
A mp3 download is relly boaring compared to this.

I dont own any reggae. I have it in my possession but i know its not for keeps, its temporary as when i go, it goes too. Very odd idea, how much reggae does i n i own.....maybe reggae has some very materialistic and capitalist orientated people. Not that anyone like that would use these messageboards of course. Weird, this pretence of being against Babylon, and being a greasy proponent of money and its properties.

Well the producers certainly were proponents of money. Thats why they were so mean and rotten to the artists.
