I cant give too much info about Mr.Spaulin,but he sang on our sound in the UK in the late 80's and he was a small man who came out in his dungarees and sang like he was 7ft tall.A humble man that sounded better live than on vinyl.............

He didn't do too much studio time it would seem but was a big soopa on the sound system circuit. I think I have that 12 Tribes LP too. Yellow label me thinks.

rootsreggaerecords; What is/was the name of your sound? Was Spaulind living in the UK?

I always assumed that the Raiders Posse that he sings about was a different Raiders Posse that the english one with Sister Candy, Colonel Flux and General T. But if he was living in the UK they might as well be the same?

Skirt an blouse; Yeah ... he seemed to be something of a dancehall favourite. Also it feels like he was about to break through there in the early 80's with all those discos and the LP ... but for some reason this didn't happen. Which is a real pity.

edit; Just to make things clear. I am not referring to any criminal gang/posse here by the name of Raiders. By the raiders posse I meant the musicians/people affiliated with Mr. Spaulding that are mentioned in the song with the same name. As Mr. Spaulding says in the next page he didn't have any affiliation with any posses as such.

This Mr Spaulding ! I would also like to make it clear that i have never been a member of the Raiders Posse , the Raiders Posse I was singing of was the guys that were around me at the time of the start of my music career in Jamaica guys such as Morris Duncan( Super star ) and Fatter Roy the Brother of Morris Duncan and a dread call IG a teacher who was among us they were the guys that i usually sing to before i go to studio and they would say if i sound ok or not , so Morris Duncan my producer at the time said that i should sing a song about them and call them Raiders Posse, of which seeing I was in Jamaica at the age of 17 yrs old and no nothing of the original Raiders Posse and they were so I just do as was told and sing the song, and we all loved it and anyone that heard it as well , but we all knew this was a song about my friends in Jamaica and not the Raiders Posse in the UK or in the USA , so please I am asking that this Paragraph which states that I was a member of the Raiders Posse be Remove from this site with immediate effect, as this is a deformation of my Character . I am truly hurt by this Propaganda on me, as JAH IS MY WITNESS .

Much respect Mr Ferguson. I just heard for the first time about a month ago your album Twelve Tribes of Israel ablum and it is a tuff tuff album. Amazing vocals with hard riddims and I can't get enough of the album. Can I ask please who were the musicians on this record?
