Yeah I wonder, is the 12" going to be a legit Black Ark recording or just some black ark soundalike.

Iam gonna skip this one. I have got, like many people here almost all those 7'' .. there is much more obscure Perry material out there. They can do a better job.

I find the bashing on this thread quite offensive. Seeing words like rubbish being used to define a work of art is always bothering me.

Aside from that, I was super happy to at last have a clean sounding version of the Clinton Fearon tune "Message to the nation". Pure wickedness and to make things even nicer, they included the version of that track. Great Upsetter riddim, superb song, which alone would get me to buy the whole album.

There is a great Junior Murvin dub too.

I dont know why the negative reviews. They could be neutral, I would understand. Am I sensing a new snobbish anti-PRessure Sounds or anti-Scratch on the pretense that what they put out should have had a better compilation, or that anyone can do better? If that is so easy to put together badass compilations like PS has consistently done over the years, why dont more people do it?

@GBougard Great you enjoy it, like hopefully many others will.

I will let it pass because it isnt interesting for me and I guess also not for other Perry collectors. The once I know. Too many 'normal' releases.

And yes Iam dissapointed in Pressure Sounds they can do better and yes I can make a better compilation but I donnot have the cash nor contacts for the rights.

I sense nowaday I cannot have an opinion on this forum because there are glass houses everywere. If Iam dissapointment in a release I can say so.

Well I willnot go away and keep on stating my opinion by these rules:

1. be polite
2. always state arguments with your opinion
3. give room for other views or opinions

Number three is interesting If people respect that rule they would only talk about the particular release in this thread and not about opinions of others.

rubbish is kinda a harsh to say and not my kind expressiing but at least he respected my personal rule number 3.

It was the rubbish I found a bit too much. I personally dont say (or try not to sy) negative things about a piece of art, because who am I to say this is not good? The artist who created the piece of art had a vibe and I dont want to label this vibe, this connection between the artist and his higher power.

It is probably viewed as too PC to limit myself to singing praises of stuff I like and shut up about stuff I dont like, so be it. There still many ways to discuss and exchange view points and confront ideas, but I am naive enough to think it is possible without too much negativity.

The point is that for every one person who is lucky enough to have these songs there are probably a dozen people who don`t.

Perhaps the person who says this compilation is rubbish is not referring to the songs themselves but to the fact it is a compilation of songs that person is lucky enough to own already.

For me this a good compilation because it comprises of many tracks that I do not own.

Unfortunately you cannot please all the people all the time and what makes some happy will dissapoint others.

I personally think Pressure Sounds should be applauded and not slated for continually trying to put out good quality music that myself and many others don`t own already.
