i dont know if you ever found out about who sings "ganja smugglin" , but the group is mother nature, and the song is called ganja smugglin. and its murderous.

MAN? I WANT IT SINCE I HAVE START TO COLLECT ROOTS REGGAE, 12 YEARS ON A STUPID UNTITLED TAAAAPE, ill try to find on the network in mp3, i wish that i can find it.. In last possibility can you send me it if i cant?

ALL I HAVE IS THE SONG GANJA SMUGGLIN THAT I BURNED FROM DISC TO MY COMPUTER, I THINK I CAN EASILY SEND THAT ONE SONG IF YOU POST YOUR EMAIL ADRESS. BUT AGAIN, I DONT HAVE THE LP OR ANYTHING, I HEARD THAT THE REST OF THE ALBUM WAS NOT NEARLY AS CRUCIAL AS GANJA SMUGGLIN. JUST LET ME KNOW, ILL SEND IT.

but im going to find the album everywhere now, good album same if not all the songs are killers as this one, the album is called "A breath of fresh air" ariwa 1984, mixed by Mother Nature and Mad Professor.

The album is a real nice kind of 'laidback' instrumental and moodful dub affair, always liked it. Enjoy if you find it (ARI LP 017, don't know if it came on CD)!
Concerning the Perry records, just try 'Return of the Super Ape' and 'Cloak and Dagger' or 'Soundz from the hot line' as albums or songs like 'White Belly Rats','Words', 'I am the Upsetter', 'People funny Boy', 'Bafflin' Smoke Signal', 'Captive', 'Big Neck Policeman' and best of all 'Vibrate On' and 'Dreadlocks in Moonlight' and you will get some of the most concerned and wittiest songs ever put to vinyl along with HARDEST musical background. In case you really like Perry's rantings and rumblings that is.

By the way, to my ears the vocals on 'Ganja Smuggling' are Garnett Cross' (aka Sergeant Pepper).
Anybody else's guess ?

Ill try some L Perry from your tips Bellyman, but i have some of them already and "mystic miracle star" is still a great one for me...
I think that its more a vibe point that a music/lyrics quality point, cause i have the return of super ape and i dont feel a lot the album apart "psyche & tim" by exemple...
If the albums are too happy/kool/peace i dont feel really, i need hard/mystic/suffering roots, prolly its why we cant have really same tastes on this albums...
For Mother Nature this voice sound familiar too for me, but i cant tell who sing...
