Wow, I just read the Shella Records website info, incredible effort/passion in tracking down this long forgotten artist based on A SINGLE song. The tune is, of course, breathtaking. It does have that Billie Holiday Strange Fruit vibe (which must be one of the most powerful pieces of western music recorded in the last hundred years), and Shella's vocals are absolutely stunning.

For the sake of the documentary and our own curiosity, best of luck solving the mystery. The story alone is worthy of its reminder that in the reggae and music biz as a whole, talent can only take one so far, and there are endless ways to deviate from the path to "the mainstream".

Yes Dave, She was in the studio with the musicians(there are tapes of a rough earlier version too) and it was later voiced at Tubby's. Cheers!

Hi Earl Grey, your website says that the EP is not available anymore. Will it come back on vinyl or is a download the only chance to get it?

Hi Lost Shoe, it is sold out, but I just had a package of 5 returned to sender (by ship!) so I now have a couple more.
Send me a pm at info@shellarecords.com and I can send one your way.
Cheers!
