Your CD player adheres to the " Red Book " standard for replay utilised in many hi-fi transports , I suffer occasionally from the same problem myself using an Audio Analogue Maestro high end disc player . Some players use a computer based transport , so can read discs that cover a range like CDR'S etc . more easily read by the laser head . ( If this is a problem to me , I burn a copy on my PC using the " drag and drop " for each individual track rather than a straight copy . )
