I can't understand the energy people are putting on people that simply love each other. Let it be they are from the same gender.
There's more important things to put energy on.

You change people's minds by finding commonalities and understandings and moving from there. Finding differences is all too easy and accomplishes nothing.

Re: Bunny Wailer banned for homophobia
I man Rasta. And I&I know Jah burned down Sodom & Gomorrah because of sinful acting (homosexuality and other unnatural practices). Full Stop. No argument about that. So that sets the pattern of Jah sons no to follow those sinful kind of practices. Still, I&I accepts the words of I-sus when he says "Let the one who is free from sin..". After that, he says: "Your sins are forgiven, but sin no more." So I&I knows a sin is still a sin, so in my case, I consider homosexuality, an unnatural practice condemned by the Almighty, an obvious sin, still I nah judge an homosexual, only homosexuality as a practice, but I nah point no finger to a particular person, seen? In an interview, singer Luciano was asked about all this "fyah burn battyman" stance of DJ's nowadays; the reporter said: "you don't do that" and he answered: "When I chant down babylon, I do it, beca' babylon is all that is wrong in the world, seen?" So, all (we) reggae listeners must be aware that when Rasta singers chant down babylon, they surely chant against capitalism, sodomism, homosexuality, satanism, etc. If you like Rasta Reggae, accept it mon, otherwise it is time for you to embrace another kind music.
Rasta love for all, Selah!

Re: Bunny Wailer banned for homophobia
The taboo in society is so strong about homosexuality, that many people cant even ask themselves what they really feel, even if they are heterosexuals, they cant assume it cause they would have to envisage homosexuality. So that they escape this by an agressive behavior against homosexuals, trying to prove to others that they are not one of them, coming back everytime on this same topic, relentlessly...
It's really pathetic, sounds like children to me.

Very good to reason with all of you on this point. And some useful views and opinions have been expressed.
Good to see that we can reason this very difficult subject without it becoming bad-mouthed mud slinging match.
I have been educated by some of these comments, and moved by some also.
Thank you all for the peaceful input.
Interesting thread.
But I agree, Jah os the Judge, and we ALL have to stand in his sight and accept his judgement when the day comes. All of us. So come mek we ready.

One nice side effect of (male) homosexuality is more women for me
. I thank the gay population of San Francisco for allowing me to involve myself with inordinately attractive women.

I think there is much hyprocrisy about these subjects among the reggae family. First of all, many reggae true lovers and even artists are not rasta, and some of them are atheist. Can you blame them for loving reggae while being atheist ? I don't think so.
If there is a god up there, no matter how you call him, I hope there is much more important to him than sexual preferences. It's love, isn't it?
Respect,
Pluie.

Religion is the roots of all evil.
In the name of the creator people are fighting.
Brothers killing brothers in the name of creator.
Judge a other mans live.
Love is the answer.

Javier seems to think that homosexuals have a choice in whether they lust after the opposite sex or their own sex. I on the other hand think that denying your sexual orientation is bad for you spiritually and mentally(re Catholic Priests)
Yes I listen to reggae music (have been doing so for more than 10 yrs).
No I don't take the Old Testament as a fundamental truth.
Yes I have seen Brokeback Mountain but I saw it with my girlfriend.
No I will not embrace 'Handbag House music' over reggae because I refuse to inform homosexuals that pumping rump leads them to eternal damnation.
Call me old fashioned but I think respecting your elders , upholding the meek and standing up for what you believe in are far more valid ways of fighting evil.
