Totally agree. Absolute scorcher!

It was one of the must have dub LPs back in the day that King of Dub. It's a masterpiece.

i got an original copy of that one, pure niceness. even for someone who likes vocal albums better than dub albums, king of dub is a scorcher

i have 2x sealed cd copies of it here forsale if anyone wants one £4.50 each (+postage)

Yep, the original on Clocktower has great sound quality - if you can find a copy that hasn't been played to death!

By coincidence, today I received original Clocktower pressings (I'm guessing since they both have the sunset label) of King of Dub and Scientific Dub. The sound quality is fantastic on both, and my assistant (a cd buyer) could not get over how great they sound. I've got a weekend of listening pleasure to endure!

i do agree that the original pressed clocktower materials are of better quaulity and sound, even the johnny clarke albums as well as the older lp's show how they were managed well by Brad Osbourne.

As I understand it the Clocktower originals were pressed in the USA, not JA, so this could be why the quality is usually so much better than a lot of JA material.

Clocktower are New York pressings. Brad Osbourne operated the label and his store "Brad's Record Den" out of New York. He was shot dead - 1984 if I remember correctly.

Dom from Blood & Fire said that Alfred Abrahams had actually bootlegged a couple of their releases (with his usual quality control - or lack of it).

I don't think Brad issued any CDs so any Clocktower discs would have be from Abraham's originally. I have a few and they're taken from vinyl with no clean up.

What's goin' on with "Clocktower Canada" label?
I just buy the "King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown" lp from Juno.co.uk!
Is it better than "Abraham's" copy? It it "Abraham's" sub-label?
