Absolutely 6anbatte, and there is a wicked dub cut of it on one of the Treasure Dub albums where Holt's vocal is reduced to just the very first word of the song but his voice is so distinctive you could tell it's him just from that!
Also good are the John Holt- Paragons and Friends and A Love I Can Feel albums on Studio One.

Hi Jesco77
Treasure Dub? I need that album! Do you know which one off the top of your head?
Is it "Arabian Dub" on Treasure Isle Dub Vol 1 -
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3699 - by any chance?
Thanks.

Hi Jesco77
Just got home from work and pleased to see a CD waiting for me on the mat. Open it up and its "Flashing Echo Trojan In Dub 1970-80" -
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1994. I'd ordered it from the States - at least 3 weeks ago! I needed "Out Of Order Dub" by Prince Jammy & The Aggrovators.
Disc One Track 15 "Arabian Dub" by Treasure Isle Allstars! The very track you recommended! As you say wicked.
Funnily enough Track 16 is "I Trim The Barber" by King Tubby & The Aggrovators. Needless to say it's another version of Ali Baba.
Synchronicity, methinks.

Hi 6anbatte
Sorry for not getting back to you but you can guess why!! Anyway I think you've got the answer. I've got 2 vinyl albums called Treasure Isle Dub Vols 1 and 2 which were I think re-releases by Coxsone of earlier Treasure Isle albums just called Treasure Dub. They're great but pretty short! Currently locked away for safe keeping out of reach of 2 small children hence haven't dug them out to check details.
Regards

Hi Jesco77
No probs. "Arabian Dub" is such a good cut. I much prefer it to the King Tubby & The Aggrovators version.
In fact, on the back of that I will going hunting for these - Treasure Isle Dub Vols 1 and 2.
Under lock and key? Very wise man!

Well, locked with a high-tech rubber band round the handles of the cupboard anyway!
