lacksley castell died ? what a shame we lost so many original rockers from augustus pablo productions like hugh mundell, jacob miller and augustus pablo.

If you go on DC++ and into reggae hubs you can find all of the Lacksley Castell except Jah Guidance.

I love both Hugh and lacksley Big Big Big.
I have two Live Mundell cassettes and would love to obtain a live Lacksley-anyone out there know of such- please advise-

Bothe LPs on Negus Roots has been reissue (or at least will be very soon for on of them). But it seems they are overdubed...

Love the Hungry Town 12" as it is discomix, which is not the case with the Rockers 10" reissue so far i remember. The cut of the Give Me The Rights riddim is really tuff.

Actually, this 12" + the 5 tunes on Jah Fire + Government Man 12" are the only tunes I really liker from Castell. The rest of the disco is good but not worth the price on eBay...

I've heard that Castell died of stomach illnes.

This info regarding the stomach Illness appeared on a 12" release on CSA called -Tug N War Games.
The write up on the blank sleeve was a press release from CSA regarding Lackley's untimely death and the fact that Tug N war Games was the last single he worked on b-4 his demise.But again a well known UK record producer advised me that no such on the stomach ilness it was a gunshot wound.
I actually owned the 12 which i recently sold to a bredrin in canada.

I love Lacksley, same with Mundell. Something about their sound. Lacksleys stuff is hard to find but worth it. As others have said he did 2 full albums that I know of and the split with Mundell. I just found out Princess Lady was re-issued on LP and CD just last month. Search it out it's great. What a shame all these conscious youths got taken out so early.

as far as lacksly castell, him did nah drop out fram gunshot wound nar fram some blasted stomach illness. him drop out inna 83 fram TB turburculosis. the other question supm bout an LP fram sufferers heights fram lacksley, false rumor, only one fram him pon dat label was the jammy production in 79 call "what a great day".
the other question bout lacksley re-release LP's 12"dem fram morning glory to princess lady. if yuh know trevor elliot owner of musical ambassador bought the rights fram Negus Roots to push out a range of negus roots cuts fram the early 80's, princess lady awready out, soon come a morning glory as well(dere are some subtle changes to the re-releases, but not much). trevor elliot appointed ernie b's to be the main distributor for all a the re-releases.
also, the guy dat list up the discography a lacksley did a good job but him feget too add in the other Lacksley cuts fram negus roots:

in regards to the Hugh Mundell- Jah Fire LP (arawak/Live&Love) the reason why Jammy's had lacksley jump on a few track for the LP, was ca him did nah have nuff songs fram hugh mundell to make a complete album. so lacksley jump in ca him really fava him voice, yuh si whey mi a seh, him really resemble mundell voice. dat why it nah seh nuh bout lacksley being on the LP, ca at that time jammy wahn people think it strictly mundell voice pon the LP.
bout lacksley, him waterhouse born an grow, kingston 11, brother is trevor junior. lacksley 1st song him do was babylon world pon pablo's rockers label. lacksley, hugh mundell, junior reid, use to hang around togeda as key bredrins in the early 80s, an dem use to hol a vibe an tings. dem use to sing togeda alot while palavin' dung a waterhouse. dat why them use to hol the samy vibe a singing, them really started sound much alike, especially mundell and castell, junior too but him was the youngest out a dem, but later junior reid would really still hol that vibe a singing all the way through the 80s then found him own styl later as a sing-jay style. influence fram the two most prolific youths of that time "mundell" an "castell".
