Good on ya Bullit!
Call me old fashioned but...
How can anyone claim to be a DJ if they are not spinning vinyl? After all, DJ means DISK JOCKEY not MP3 Player.
Having said that, my eldest son is a laptop DJ (hardcore house music) and I can see that it does take just as much skill to work the laptop as the decks.
But it just ain't the same is it?

I understand about money. I had hundreds of reggae records by 1982 but by 1984 I had none as I sold them for pennies just to survive. And for many many years since, I couldn't afford them at all. But now that I can, I can't get enough of them! I started by downloading Mp3s b ut the sound was so poor when played over hi-fi so I bought CDs.
Then, my brother bought his reggae collection around and we bought a deck to listen to them and put them on MP3 before he sold them.
Once I heard that warm, rich vinyl sound again I was hooked (again). So hooked I bought most of his collection off him after he'd done the MP3 transfers!

Ha! Good link. And notice how the software is Mac or Windows and yet of course they have the good taste to show the rig all set up with a Mac Powerbook (looks like a 12 inch PB for those who care...)

Maple Free, right now I am listening to some of my 12 inch 45s, one after the other. Solid wall of reggae sound is blasting my street!
Presently playing is JC Lodge, Telephone Love.
