ok...the music which i like the best (not what i think is the best, but what i LIKE the best) is the Rocksteady period from 1966-1968 and the rise of digital dancehall from 1985-1989.

Cool... so you like the more up tempo stuff, eh? My favourite era was the 70's, that slower, rootsy stuff is wicked. Love the one-drop beats (tu)
One of my favourite rocksteady song would have to be... Maytals' Sweet & Dandy!
Early Dancehall... Shabba Ranks - Twice my Age (kind of later than 85-89 i think...)
I love it all!

Just to return to the original subject and to agree with some of you, including the roots archives, let me say a few calming words.
I think this site have been growing and growing, and so have been our expectations and involvment in it. These are the reasons why, in my opinion, some threads might have become conflictual sometimes. More people, more views, more topics, more antagonisms.
The fact that RA started an Off Topic Forum (which I really love) also undirectly caused that.
I don't see it as an awful thing and I don't think, as some said, that running away will help this site we all love.
The over emotionnal reactions I've seen to those antagonisms make me think one thing : we should not given so much importance about people or posts we don't appreciate. The forum is so wide that you can still find the lovely information and even spiritual connections you need.
So let's not dramatize all that too much cause it might be ruining the site more than the conflictual threads themselves....
Been here for 4 years and I must admit I'm a bit lazy with posting stuff but I still enjoy so much this site that I won't leave it for a few misunderstandings.
And to answer another off topic thread at the same time I will say ,to find peace within yourself give peace to the others.

I agree the off topic area does sometimes cause a stir, i dont think its a bad thing though.
Lots of different oppinions where everyone differs, I think that can cause conflict; but i dont think conflict is always bound to happen with more thinking on posts and what their writing this can be reduced.
Getting the mods to change anything like areas of the forum or opening a new forum area such as "live events" etc, seems to be a difficult thing.

Differences of opinion are fine. But petty name calling and arduous drawn out slagging matches aren't.
Better that we all try and stay polite even as we disagree.

i agree that differences are what makes the world go around and keeps things interesting. but what i meant in my post before was that it is often that too many people feel that they are right and the other is wrong when in fact it is only matters of opinions and that is that.
getting upset over differences of opinion is improper. accepting and acknowledging other opinions and taking that in as a learning experience is rightious.
