Sly & Robbie - Hard Core Dub (or Hord Core Dub as my sleeve says).

Some superb rhythms on it but it seems to be more or less the same album as A1 Dub with the Morwells with the exception of a few tracks. One of these exceptions being the incredible »Channel 1 Rock Dub« which is a dub to Earth & Stones »Sweet Africa« without horns. Also enjoying the solemn guitar on the intro of it. I wonder if there might be another vocal out there using this rhythm?

“The Black Foundation in Dub” (Heartbeat US) – Jack Ruby productions - King Tubby Errol Thompson on the mixing desks. LP released in 2000 - taken from original 70’s tapes. Dubs from the Heptones, Justin Hines and Burning Spear lovingly restored and presented - a great listen for those of us who cannot get enough of the “golden years”

“Majestic Dub” (Star UK) King Tubby and Prince Jammy produced by Bunny lee – not to be confused with the Joe Gibbs LP of the same name - This one came out in the very early 80’s - although some of the rhythms hark back to the classic Bunny Lee days of the late 70’s. Mixing seems to be more recent though – drier, crisper and heavier - almost a lead in to the Radics sound which soon took over - has a sound all of its own to my ears

A classic dub re-issue today , from Presssure Sounds , with Clancy Eccles and King Tubby working in close harmony - " Sound System International Dub LP "( originally out on Clandisc on 1976 ) - absolutely fantastic !!

Get to " Dub Star " and just think " Were New Order listening to this when they penned Blue Monday ? " :~)

"Tradition in Dub" by Tradition (BPI UK) produced by D Tyrone 1977 - UK dub at it finest. Released around the same time as some of the early Dennis Bovell dub workouts and every bit on par with them. Tradition were an OK band but there LP's were always more interesting when presented dub wise. Nice echoed vocals, subtle percussion and memorable keyboard lines. This one's crisp and relaxed and well worth repeated listens!

Watched a documentary on Carole King last night , which prompted me to get out one of the first ever dub albums - Aquarius Dub " , released in 1973 , which has a version of " It's Too Late , Baby " on it , called " Rest Your Self " . Quality piece of music , as basic as you can get , but thoroughly enjoyable ...

Very nice Dub! And I definitely agree, that Tradition was at their best when doing it dubwise.
As far as I know "Tradition In Dub" is the same as "High Risk Dub", which was issued later in a proper sleeve and with different track titles.
