Does anyone know? It'd be great to see the man at work, or even an interview - well, anything really.

yes there is some footage, i know this question has been asked many times over the years and no one ever came up with anything as far as i'm awhere except for a rumor that someone in japan who had some footage of him. I have seen a very short clip of about 10-15 seconds long and it shows king tubby in his studio, he doesn't speak or anything but it does prove that there is some footage out there and there must be alot more to this short clip, and it originates from japan as far as i know, so that rumor about someone in japan having some footage must have been true. Sorry i don't have anymore info, but i might be able to put the clip up on youtube when i get chance. but if your looking for filmed interviews or anything like that i think your out of luck, there has never been any footage of him released as far as i know.

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps I can only dream of seeing footage of Tubby at the desk like the clips of Prince Jammy currently doing the rounds on YouTube.

There are some very rare footages of Legends, concerts and soundsystems of the 70's and 80's that people are not releasing. I remember while in Holland one guy had a three and half hour video of a concert dubbed "Superstar showcase 1983". I only got to see Freddie Mcgregor and Don Carlos all backed by We the people Band. All performers were wicked

Plus the guy who owned was not really comfortable after repeateadly trying to ask him to let off

The best bet is u could find those who tried to film documentaries and Promoters inorder to get this tapes

there is footage of Tubbies Studio out there, and i'm sure one day some more footage of the man himself will surface, what u have to remember is just how rare video cameras where back in the 70's, but i'm sure there must be footage of him from the 80's especially the late 80's as there was alot more people starting to film stuff them, the clips of tubbies studio with jammy at the desk on youtube are taken from Deep Roots i'm confident that one day a film will come to light. But i hear he was a very private man and didn't like being on camera.
The same question about tubbies footage has been asked year after year and nothing ever shows up, worth a try tho! if u find anything please let me know.

**i do know someone who filmed at tubbies in 1980 and scientist was filmed on the mixing desk and also gold was in the studio, i've only seen about 60secs of it, i asked the guy who filmed if he managed to get tubby on film but he didn't answer! the film is in storage right now and probably will be for a while but i have asked to be contacted when it gets pulled out to see whats there or if theres any chance of buying it as there alot more legendary artists on the film, but i don't think he was too keen on selling! only time will tell....
