Its the alone thing where i have no really tastes, all voices are goods when the lyrics and the chant rock!
but i like particulary: Hugh Mundell, Vivian Jones, Norman Grant (Twinkle Brothers vocal lead), of curse Bob Marley and his particular voice, Dennis Brown and Barrington Levy too... :)

To me the voice is crucial. The legendary roots singers all have very distinctive voices. My favorites are Joseph Hill of Culture, Pablo Moses, Hugh Mundell, Leroy Sibbles, Don Carlos (his voice still sounds as sweet as it did 20 years ago), Gregory Isaacs (it would be a crime to leave him off this list), Horace Andy, John Holt, Johnny Osbourne, Junior Murvin, Cedric Myton of The Congos, Michael Prophet, the lead singer of the Mighty Diamonds, and of course the deep baritone of Peter Tosh.

Two very underrated voices are Ken Parker and Watty Burnett. Both sadly underrecorded.

All above mentioned singers are very, very good. However, I would also add Garnett Silk, Cornell Campbell and Delroy Wilson. And many, many others.
