Pat Kelly or The Gladiators?

Both will perform on the same night in my hometown at different venues.

To whom should I go? I've never seen any of them before. What does this forum recommend?

I've never seen either live, but there is no way on earth I would turn down the opportunity to see Pat Kelly, what a voice that guy has, none the less your in reggae hell

Would go for the The Gladiators but it is personal. Just listen a bit on you tube and look into your collection. I find it always enjoyable to hear songs live that I also know.

I understand that at least one of the original Gladiators no longer performs with the band. His son now stands in for him. So, not quite the original line up for them. Pat Kelly is Pat Kelly though. Lucky you, what a choice to have to make.

I've happened to see the Gladiators from mid 80's through 2004, for a total of 5 times. Gradually, both the players of instruments and Albert Griffith's voice vanished. In early 90's he was touring with Leroy H on drums and Brian Silverman on lead guitar. That was still epic. After that, no comments. Unfortunately, same has happened to many artists. Steel Pulse in the 80s was a different show altogether than what we get today, even if I give max respect to David Hinds.

On your question: I'd try to check if Pat Kelly has good backing band. If so, he would be my pick.

The Gladiators will perform on May 3rd at Huize Maas in Groningen,The Netherlands

Pat Kelly will perform at Vera also in Groningen
