Took a punt and bought a cd from Backshot/Hydra Inc. from Japan last week , a re-release of " Medley Dub " , which was originally released on Sonia Pottinger's High Note label in 1977 . Errol Brown doing the re-mixing on this . A nice album of mostly "medley" tunes ( hence the title !! ) , pleasant enough for my Sunday listening after doing a shift at work .

Tuff Scout Inna London Dub! Really solid album with great rhythms and a thoughtful mix. I think it's really true to the spirit of vintage dub without trying to mimic a vintage sound.

Got it from Ernies a few days ago, so it should be widely available now.

Pick it up from Out on the floor records in Inverness Street in Camden Town, they have it, saves buying online and waiting for it :)

Also have you got the Cornel Campbell "Hypocrites, that is one of y favourite Tuff Scout releases.

Hey Dave

Good to hear from you. I have "Destiny", but not "Hypocrites"! Thanks for the advice and heads-up.

Cheers

On sundays I usually need to work and that's why I seldom have the opportunity to post here.
But last sunday I listened to the Morwells / Dub Me.
Very nice Dub record from 1975. Somewhat restrained mixing stripped down to the bones of drum and bass.

Thanks for your contributions , Lost Shoe . Much appreciated . I've found that this thread topic to be quite therapeutic as it makes me take time out to listen to a lot of tunes that I haven't listened to for a while , and hear them in a different light ! Also how much classic dub I still have to track down .... :7)

I keep finding more and more dub . A good tack is to put a search on youtube, I recently found some Maytones in dub that I never knew existed.
