Apparently Jimmy Riley is/has been rather ill lately. The next Pressure Sounds will be a JR compilation including dub plate(s)? & rarities.

Re: Jimmy Riley next on PS
Thanks for the info, jj. Good to see a tracklist for the release. Some really heavy songs on it and some I've never heard before. It seems they're going for a minor chord roots compilation.
»Jackit« is a next cut of Joy White's »Dread Out Deh«. »Gunman of JA« is a beautiful cut of Mr. Bassie on a rockers rhythm. Can't wait to hear the Tubby dub to it. I only know it from the Majority Rule LP and I'm not sure if I've ever seen it on 7". Also the title track of the LP which is included as well is fantastic. »Tell the Youths the Truth« from the album wasn't as nice if I recall correctly. One of those songs I skip when I play the LP.
»Nyah-Binghi« is one of my favourite songs with Jimmy R. Been after the YES 12" for some time but it always goes for just a bit too much or it's too worn to be worth to pick up. »Give Thanks & Praise« is wonderful as well.
»From the Ghetto« I remember from a Pressure Sounds compilation. Can't say that I remember what it sounds like but I do recall I liked the song.
»Everyone Needs Money« is also very nice song even though I think recall it being an early to mid-80's affair. Might fit well into the compilation still. Looking forward to the compilation!
The following songs I haven't heard and they're going to be interesting to hear:
Feeling is believing
Bridge the Gap
Poor Immigrant

I've seen the documentary but I can't remember that particular scene. Gives me a reason to check it again

Iirc Poor Immigrants is on his Shanachie Put The People First LP. Every review I've read has given this album (PTPF) a resounding thumbs down. I have it but haven't listened to it for yonks.
