Hello all,
I'm trying to identify the year of the following LPs, as I can't seem to find any other info on these particular coloured labels. I got them along with some other records, all of which were original/early pressings.
I'm pretty sure they are early presses, but not sure if they're the same year as the equivalent US pressings with the orange sunset labels.
Scientist - Scientific Dub (yellow labels - says Made in Canada)
Upsetters - Blackboard Jungle Dub (grey labels)
Scratch and Company - The Upsetters Chapter 1 (green labels)
Bunny Lee - King of Dub (grey labels)
Any help is much appreciated.
Please help ID the release year of these Clocktower Dub LPs

I know that they're represses as the original presses from this era tend to have orange sunset labels. I was just keen to know roughly what year each of them were repressed if anyone could shed any light on that. I think that they are early presses, possibly 80s but not sure.

First one you showed is of end 80 beginning 90. That was when I first bought a copy of BBJ and it was that particular press green label that also applies to scratch and company.

I'd call your "Blackboard Jungle Dub" a green label, is that the one distributed by RAS Records? I have it down as:
Sunset/orange label
Gray label (mid-eighties)
Green label (distributed by RAS Records)
Black and white label (BLACKBOARD JUNGLE A/B added to the run out)
Sunset/orange label
Gray label (mid-eighties)

Thanks very much for all of the replies so far.
Dubmart, apologies the Blackboard Jungle label is actually grey not blue. Not a RAS distribution. Sleeve appears to be the same as the original with a black & white back.

Okay, I can see that now, that would make it the second press and from the mid-eighties, it uses exactly the same stampers as the first so should sound almost identical.DarkDeepRed wrote:Thanks very much for all of the replies so far.

Thanks again Dubmart.
Any info on the yellow label? My copy of Rockers Almighty Dub has a yellow label and was purchased in the early 80s (so I'm told), however it has a large circle mark so I doubt the Scientist LP pictured is as early as that.
