greetings and love,
2016 seems to be a great year for collectors and DJs so far... surfing on ebay i found this http://www.ebay.at/itm/BOOM-BACK-ROAD-B ... SwaA5Wj9Pd and it seems the seller is connected to archive recordings (i got a lot of records from them and the quality is always outstanding)... any more information on that?
big up the whole forum-crew, good to see the board alive...
bless up,
lion

Re: Reissues
99th , I looked at the Pick A Dub, but after checking found I have all but 4 of the tracks on it...& I think I have all but 1 track on this latest Pablo issue.
Do you reckon you'll go for the vinyl LP of Rod Taylors If Jah Should....as I don't know if Kingston Connexion does CD's??
I'm currently waiting on it to land.(Edit: KC does do CD's - Prince Hammers Vengeance & Archive Dub Vol 1, being the examples:))
Roaring Lion - nice discovery! I look forward to getting a copy.
Yes the Archive label is great. I take it you know of their Boom Back 7" reissue 'Ghetto Life" from a while back?
Agreed, this site is an amazing resource. Great to see it being updated as well. Hats off to all involved:)
Here is Boom Backs - Road Block - superb dubwise!
https://youtu.be/oJb66vJlZLg
Freaking out here as another big quake just rocked my house, one dogs upset , the other ones still snoring!
cheers

Re: Reissues
I guess I'm in the same position. For *Pick a Dub* I have a couple of the Hudson vocals on *The Hudson Affair* and the Pablo and Horace tracks I have too, but I still want those remaining Hudson vocals (and the Delroy, which I don't think I have), because I assume they are counterparts to tracks on the main LP. For *King David's Melody* I have one track on *Rockers International 2*, and also the couple that were bonus tracks on the previous Greensleeves/Shanachie reissue. Any pointers as to where others are included?j j wrote:99th , I looked at the Pick A Dub, but after checking found I have all but 4 of the tracks on it...& I think I have all but 1 track on this latest Pablo issue.

I may go for the Rod Taylor LP if there is no CD. I saw too that they have done CDs in the past, but seemingly not for the more recent releases.

Re: Reissues
OK 99 here's what I've got for the bonus tracks on King David's Melody 2016 reissue:
1.Solomon Dub - Rockers International Vol 2 - Greensleeves CD
2.Zion Dub - ?
3.Jah Strength Ital Step - King David's Melody - Shanachie CD (2006 reissue bonus track)
4.West Abyssinia Version - Rockers /Only Roots 12"
5.Israel Dub - King David's Melody - Shanachie CD (2006 reissue bonus track)
6.Jah School Dub - ?
7.Dub 2 (Sufferers Choice) - ?? maybe Sufferer Dub - Africa Dub CD (w/Hugh Mundell)
8.Babylon Fall Dub - ??maybe Babylon Dub - Raiders Dub - Rockers CD (W/Earl 16)
9.Freedom Step - King David's Melody - Shanachie CD (2006 Reissue bonus track)
So I guess I may be missing up to 4 tracks, although once I can hear some soundies from this latest 2016 reissue I can tell for sure)
If I didn't already have the 2006 Shanachie reissue (which has 4 bonus tracks, the other being Hot Milk 12" mix) I would buy this latest reissue for sure.
cheers

Re: Reissues
Ok, thanks. I have the Shanachie reissue (I made a mistake, there are of course three common tracks), *Rockers International Vol 2* and *Africa Dub*, so I am in roughly the same position.j j wrote:OK 99 here's what I've got for the bonus tracks on King David's Melody 2016 reissue:

I might get this reissue down the line, but it won't be first priority.
(I also mistakenly mentioned Greensleeves above, I for some reason have that CD too, and I thought it had those same bonus tracks, but it doesn't.)

Re: Reissues
It is a little annoying that they keep drip feeding 'bonus tracks" or different bonus tracks on these reissues:)
I guess if I see this new edition at a reduced price, then maybe:/....

Re: Reissues
I agree with jj about the different bonus tracks...but, hey, if you are a completist, you are...
Like 99thfloor, I only (or mostly...) buy reissues on CD, so I won´t be getting Lamb´s Bread or the expanded Bob Marley Live! if they´re not released on CD.
Don´t miss that the new rerelease of Rico´s Man From Wareika / Wareika Dub has two rare vocal versions by Ijahman Levy among the bonus tracks!

Re: Reissues
"expanded Bob Marley Live!" ??? What did I miss? Re-release of the Live at the Lyceum Album with bonus tracks?
And please explain the "bonus tracks problem" that jj mentioned. I feel like I should understand this, but maybe it's just still too early in the morning for my brain.
Edit: Oh and yeah the Rico´s Man From Wareika / Wareika Dub is a MUST BUY - not just for me.

Re: Reissues
Both full shows at the Lyceum are being released, as a triple vinyl and download - but no CD, although the content seems designed for a double CD relase (and there was such a Deluxe Edition prepared sometime in 2001-2002, but that's when those reissues ground to a halt). The CD will come eventually, I'm sure.Gabranth wrote:"expanded Bob Marley Live!" ??? What did I miss? Re-release of the Live at the Lyceum Album with bonus tracks?
For example, *King David's Melody* first came out on CD on Greensleeves, containing the main album. Then Shanachie reissued it with four bonus track. And now VP are doing it again with nine bonus track (of which three are in common with the Shanachie). They add bonus track in dribs and drabs, making you buy the same stuff over and over, while also making sure something earlier goes missing in the process, so that you will have to have them all to get everything. And please explain the "bonus tracks problem" that jj mentioned. Re: Reissues
@99: Thanks for explaining. Pretty much like they do with DVDs/Blurays. New special versions with more bonus material every couple of months.
Looking forward to the full Lyceum Shows! I hope you're right, and a CD release is coming too. If not... nothing wrong with the vinyl I guess.
