Im definitely trying to find infos on the Black Symbol...
All I know is that they are from Birmingham UK...

Roots Archives says they have a LP... I personnally doubt it really exist... or as bootleg, can you correct me?

Then trying to start a discography of them... What I found is:

(RA)
*Everything Has It's Time
Everything Has It's Dub
In The Name Of Jah
In The Name Of Dub
Loving Jah
Loving Jah Dub
None A Jah Jah Children
Jah Jah Children Dub*

+++++++++

*Travelling
Spiritual Reggae*
from R.S.A. Presents Handsworth Explosion Vol. 1
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/4 ... ight=68885
has someone this LP? Are those songs good?

++++++++

*Tension
Solidarity* on 12"

Does anyone know more songs by them?

Finally, does anyone know if Evrrything has its time was ever released as 12"?

Thanks much...
Those guys have a real special UK sound that I appreciate much... Hope to learn more...

Hi Litelet,

Know nothing about "None A Jah Jah Children" LP (unless i heard it on mp3).
About "Handsworth Explosion Vol.One", i think it's great!
On the back sleeve, we can read: "Black Symbol was founded by the lead singer Fatman and has now established himself. Fatman was born in Jamaica in 1956 in the parish of St Annes. He came to England in 1973.Fatman is the lead singer who has a great future ahead as the best up and coming vocalist. He comes from a line of well known singers. Black Symbol has three disco 45's released in july.Fatman gives inspiration both spiritually and physically, with structure and presentation".

2 more tracks of Black Symbol appear on "Handsworth Explosion volume II" (BS 007) ,called "Feeling is Irie" and "Trouble Trouble".

Hope this can help you!

Blessings,...

Hi bredda litelet,

The comp R.S.A. Presents Handsworth Explosion Vol. 1 is truly wicked, seen it go for good money on ebay recently... sold by bredda mikey from germany... unfortunately, I couldnt't afford so I still don't own the original...

The tracks you listed that someone labeled as "Non A Jah Jah Children" LP I believe they're only a gather of 45's rather than a full LP album that was released back then... my guess only,...

I also have a 12" pon Art & Craft by "The Symbols" chune called motherless children (murder), but it's clearly not the UK band "Black Symbol"... maybe these "Symbols" on the Kebra Negast are this same one... never heard them to confirm this...

All Black Symbol songs you mentioned that I've heard are truly wicked... a different kind (heavier) of UK Roots... reminds me a lot of some songs from another UK group called Liberators...

Wish I could hear this Tension 12" pon Solidarity... and also wish that I was wrong and these 4 tracks + dubs are indeed a full lenght LP...

Blessings,
DJ Guno Santos

Yes Guno, love that Symbols 12" tooo... but definetly not the UK Black Symbol. Those got a heavier than heavy UK Sound System touch... Hope to grab those compilations too!

Thanks Vinnie, got this one 12" only by them on orig format.

Hey guys,
this band is amazing. We indeed can recognize the uk style on drums and organs mostly, but yes, it's very subtile, and the sound is so spiritual and deep ! The voice is a kind of mix between burning spear (that must be the Saint Annes connection) and Prince Far I.
I don't know if this can help about the existence of the LP but in my files I have a picture of a possible cover. Still, this does not seem an original cover it is more likely a image created by a lover of this music.
Any additional info about them is welcome.
