On track one (Train to Rhodesia) of Big Youth's excellent DJ LP 'Dread Locks Dread' there's a singer singing:
"everyday I prey, for this little hour, oh yeah, just to let them feel, how great is JAHJAH's power, ooh yeah"
Who is it? And what's the original tune? Where can I find it? What LP?
I need to hear it in full, the original singer has divine vocal talent.
Is it the same vocalist as on track two singing 'Curley Locks'
(oh, and anyone know if this LP is the SAME mix as on the Klik version of this LP?)
Big Youth - Dread Locks Dread - who's singin the tune on track one?

OK, I'm listening to the entire album again - first time for a while. And now I get another track with more singing I have to know the singer again.

Maybe it would be easier if some knowledgeable bredda or sista just list the vocalist on each track!
Track One, side two, Marcus Garvey Dread, is that Joseph Hill singing?

The vocalist on "Train to Rhodesia" is Barrington Spence. The vocal cut is "Jah Jah train" from his album "Speak Softly".

hi leggo rocker, the extract lyrics you are looking for on "train to rodhesia" are from "the train is coming" from Ken Boothe. He has a soulful voice, but be it doesn't seem he is the one singing here, so check what capp says about barrington spence.

And about track 6 "Marcus Garvey Dread", it's not Joseph Hill from Culture, but Winston Rodney from/aka Burning Spear. The original is "Marcus Garvey" from the same titled album, a very classic one, http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2451

Finally, track 11 "Moving on": this song is "moving away" from the great Ken Boothe again, and i think he is the singer here (secs. 25 sq ). it appears on "a man and his hits" ( http://www.roots-archives.com/release/956 ) and many others. check also http://212.202.251.207/scripts/rr.dll?s ... tab=/pi/3/
