How can anyone claim to be a DJ if they are not spinning vinyl? After all, DJ means DISK JOCKEY not MP3 Player.

I have about 320 albums and about 20 12's
I have no 7's at all [contrary to my user name]!
About 300 cd's in my car-thats the only place i play them generally

if i ever would have bought all the records i have, i couldnt buy musical instruments to do reggae music, or hi-fi and pc equipment to work music. life is so expensive

totally abey, i am a musician and could have had alot more effects and such for my guitars if i hadnt spent all my dough on records. but for me its almost like free music instruction! you buy an album and can listen to it forever and learn everything on it. so in a scence record serve two purposes

I own about 60 to 70 albums on CD and a further 12 or so on Vinyl. I only got into reggae in 2001 and with the other music I buy I think it is quite a good collection so far.

I've already bought 8 albums of reggae & dub this year so far and no signs of stopping!!

Small compared to alot of ya rootsman but i`m a proud owner of say probably 120 albums+/-. I`m pretty stoked to have this much but would love to be really wealthy or lets say a millionaire because i`d get most of the reggae sounds ever made.Well i can dream.

I have a total of +- 500 all originals, roots, dub, rub a dub, ska, reggae lp's, 7", 10", 12"
I have an excel file that i use to organize everything, album name, artist, format, label, year of birth, price, engineer, backing band, ... No cd's what so ever!

My wife supports my collecting habit and even contributes to the financial part of it, even my kids tell me to go buy records, they even look with me when we go to a garage sale or stores, looks like the virus is spreading. Don't use ebay cause i like going out hunting for black gold! ... they (my kids) sometimes give me a 7" as a birthday present ... isn't life great when your backed up by a loving & supporting family!

Once asked my kids what they would do with my collection when i die ... they said that they would keep it and pass it on to their children and they are only 8 & 10 years old!
Knowing this made my collecting habit even stronger
