Re: Reggae Covers Of Famous Songs
Barry Biggs version of 'Love come Down' is one of my favourite covers - it reggaes up beautifully. There's also a version with a saxophone soloing all over it. Brilliant!
Also, as most of you probably already know, Wayne Wonder had a go at Tracy Chapman's 'Fast Car', which is really inspired.

Re: Reggae Covers Of Famous Songs
I noticed a couple of people have listed "Everything I Own" by Ken Boothe. Can anybody tell me if this is the backing track for I.Roy's "Set Me Free" on Top Ranking DJ Sessions Vol. 2(Joe Gibbs)?
Also-Gregory Isaacs -"Get Ready" (Temptations)
-Carl Dawkins & Wailers-"Cloud 9"(Temptations)
-Tecniques- "Queen Majesty" (C. Mayfield & Impressions)
-Phyllis Dillon-"Perfidia" (?)
-Norma Fraser-"First Cut Is The Deepest" (Cat Stevens)
-Big Youth-"We Can Work It Out" (Beatles)
-Marcia Griffiths-"First Time I Saw Your Face"
-Judy Mowatt & Gaylettes- "Son of a Preacher Man" (Dusty Springfield/Aretha Franklin)
-Bob & Marcia-"To be Young, Gifted & Black"

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his own soul?
