I'm in the UK by the way, i have a few Talisman LP's or 12"s will have to check, i will take scans for u, i can always sort u the MP3 of Calamity if brendan doesn't mind? I'd love to see blood and fire re-release some of your best tunes, this would be excellent.
As far as reggae films i have, to many to list i think!! i'm a huge fan of reggae+JA films, u can check some out at: www.reggaedvds.co.uk or can talk about reggae related films @
http://www.reggaedvds.co.uk/eblah/Blah/Blah.cgi
but i don't seem to have many posters! 99%myself!!! it's pretty new so i suppose i have to wait a bit.
Just wanted to say what a great website Roots Archives is, what would we do without it, i'm so glad someone has gone to the trouble of setting this website up and i really hope it remains here forever. Has anyone done a search for talisman on here? maybe we can send in some album cover pics for them.

hi bwoyrough and colliman
thank you very much for your thoughfulness to share your knowledge and music.i can say that you in the west are much luckier than we are musicwize.
i wish i could have all the talisman on cds and i don't think that brendan would mind.iam sure that he is willing to put some of their music together for me,but one bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.
as for the dvd,iam mainly looking for concerts in the 70's or at least early 80's.i would be very glad to have aswad in the 70's or at least any concert until 1983 which i consider really the limit before they crossed over.to me 1983 is really the limit before sampling and programming came into the music.
yeah i agree that we should take our hats off to those who designed and set up this site.they are really great and help us to fight against pour loneliness and make new friends.
you can contact me at:silverling72@hotmail.com
iam not skilled computerwize to upload anything from the internet.so better send it via post if you decide to send anything to me.
thank you very much guys

Re: who knows this band once based in bristol uk
By the way Fadel, the Depp Roots documentary u have, there are 6 episodes not 4 so u must be missing 2 of them, it is an excellent documentary, there is a short and long version, short ones are about 35-40mins and long version 55mins each episode.
Some other reggae bands i think u might like are, Knowledge, Mystic Eyes, Mighty Threes, Black roots, all similar kind of stuff in the same style as misty in roots, if u don't have the Mighty Threes LP Africa Shall Stretch Forth her Hand, then get it, this is a truely amazing LP.
Pete

Re: who knows this band once based in bristol uk
no probs, no i haven't heard from brendan, i'm sure he will write back soon. If there is any film in particular u are looking for then let me know. 1970's footage is obviously the rarer stuff and queit hard to come by these days unless official releases. U mentioned u are in contact with roger steffens, any chance u could hook me up with him? i'd love to get some trades going with him! i know i'd love to get all his LA Reggae shows+lots more i know he will have.
THanks,
Pete
Ps
I'll scan them talisman covers when i get chance to dig em out.

Re: who knows this band once based in bristol uk
hi bwouyrough
are you sure that roger may want to trade some of the la reggae stuff?
i know there is guy in the netherlands who may have many that he recorded in the course of the years.depending on how interested he is and depending on his agenda.he is also a music even promoter who travels a lot with artists he is promoting.
no any movie will do:concerts of reggae trios for instance or groups like third world, toots and the maytalls in the 70's or early 80's the latest,i have one performance by aswad, steel pulse and chalice in,1988,1979 and 1984 repectively and one black uhuru(all at the rockpalast in germany)in october 1981.so definetely the reggae programs that appeared in the uk for instance in the 70's or early 80's(that is to say up to 1983)are welcome.i would like also any aswad concert or steel pulse between 1980 and 1984.
kindest regards.
oh which l.a reggae program are you specificly looking for?
