I have a book called Reggae Routes: The Story of Jamaican Music. In the back of the book that have a listing of top 25 or so songs of the year 1960-73 and 1978-96.
I was hoping someone could fill in the blanks for me. What was the biggest song(s) in Jamaica for the years 74, 75, 76 and 77? What about 97 to the present?
I saw a listing that had Elephant Man's "Pon De River, Pon De Bank" as the top song of 03 and it had I Wayne's "Can't Satisfy Her" as number one for 04. Is this correct info?
Both songs were huge here in Miami and got regular airplay on WLRN's Sounds of the Caribbean radio show.

Check the Dance Crasher website for some info that may help you... I'm not sure of the exact address... just type it in your search bar...They have reggae charts that may be able to fill in the gaps for you... I think it might be UK charts though... still very interesting

For the official English reggae charts of the late 70's, no better place to look than this site:
