Yes Ernie B is a blessing!
In Australia there is only 1 reggae specific store (Higher Level - Melbourne) although there are other stores in Melb & Sydney with enuff wikked tunes. I live in Byron Bay which is a 10 hour drive to Sydney & 20+ hours to Melb.
When Ernie B's can get my order to me within 3 days of I pressing the magic button & per item it works out way cheaper anyway, that is a blessing.

My last purchase was five classic roots/dub discs for under $35, shipped. Woulda cost over twice that at Amazon, and the nearest shop to me might be 300 miles away, maybe farther. Funny, all the time I actually lived in Southern California and I never knew it was there...

Are you crazy?! The shipping is so expensive! For a $5.99 cd the full price including shipping would be $35! You really oughta try eBay there the shipping is max $8. And the cd's cost about $7-8.

Jah Glu, if you live in the US the shipping rates are fantastic, but I hear it's not so great for overseas customers.

Ebay is not one seller but thousands and prices, rates and service vary widely...

Ernie's shipping costs are great but who orders one items at the time? The way Ernie works is that you pay 30$ for an order of 90$ and from then it's 1/3 of the price of your order for shipping cost.

Viva la Ernie

Love Ernie B's. Great selection and great service. I used to talk to him a lot when I was a record store buyer and he was always very nice and informative. I think he's really taken reggae retail to the highest level and in my opinion his prices are very good. I live in Los Angeles with lot's of great stores and I still like ordering from Ernie. Cool vibes!!!

I spoke on this subject before, praising Ernie B's for fast shipping, etc...

However, just this week I ordered some his blowout vinyl and it arrived in poor condition. I guess the prices reflect the product. 2 LP's, a 10", and a 7", all warped.

Last year I had a bad expereince with 7"s from there too. Scuffed or warped seems to be the theme.

Overall it is a great outlet, but with the blowout vinyl it is definately a luck of the draw.

I noticed Ernie B now does US letterpost too making shipping costs reasonable even if you are outside the US and only ordering 1 item...
