Anyway, if 99% of the people know anything about Jamaica it's because of Bob Marley, 90% of the reggae people in the world came to reggae by Marley, the majority of human on earth know who Marley was and what country he comes from. A large part of the tourism in jamaica comes from the marley heritage...

The decision of giving this honour to Marley (or not) belongs to Jamaicans ONLY but he undoubtly is THE ambassador of Jamaica worldwide so I wouldn't be suprised if Jamaica ever recognizes this by according him the highest order. And I must say I would be quite happy to see this one day.

Not our choice as non-jamaicains but he deserves it. There are some other great artist but none such ambassador as Bob.
