Revolutionaries - Missable and unmissable LPs

I've always liked the Revolutionaries LPs.

The FIRST EVER dub I heard was LEGGO DUB and thathooked me on dub forever.

I sold all my LPs for nothing years ago (them who got LPs like Rockers INNA Hungry Town for 10p must be so happy today) now I am having to buy them all back for about 1000 x as much...

SO, is there any Revolutionary albums that AREN'T worth the bother??

yep, got that, and agree, unmissable.

yes Ites, the Che record is worth having, but there is two of them, Rev. Sounds 1 and Rev. Sounds 2, but are they the same tunes? See my other thread on this.

I have them both now, the re-iss white cover, Vol1 and the original Vol 2 (on Ballistic) - unmissable LPs but my ears struggle to find a difference between the two mixes.

What about Dutch Man Dub, anyone rate this?

I haven't heard a Revs. LP I don't like yet but some I like loads more than others.

I have Dutch Man Dub LP. It is OK but not the best Revolutionaries album, and quite short in duration. I suggest investing in the recently re-released Earthquake Dub - definitely worth the purchase. Channel One: Maxfield Aveneue Breakdown (Pressure Sounds I think - all my stuff is on I-tunes now and originals put away in storage so I'm not sure)has some slightly noisy but enduring Revolutionaries rhythms from many well known hits. Goldmine Dub has some good rhythms on it too. Be aware that a lot of Revolutionaries material is listed as being by Sly & Robbie (or is it vice versa?). By the way thanks Leggo Rocker for pointing out that the two Che Guevera albums are one and the same, as this is one less album I need to find, having Vol 2 already.

Thanks Ras Glenn, but two posters have suggested they are NOT the same, one is a dub the other an Instrumental. I know have both but listening them back to back it's pretty hard to see a difference. If i had twin decks I would try them side-by-side!

I have the re-release of Earthquake (and the original vinyl) but they have now re-released Leggo Dub on CD, which I am getting because I no longer have the very valuable vinyl (I have a MiniDisk of it copied from my former LP which is now in the hands of my very lucky younger brother!)

I also have some 'Sly and Robbie' albums that are of course as you say, actually the revolutionaries. But I am not too impressed with their later stuff - too much biiing, boooooong, synth drumming.

Try 'Dub A De Number One' Gregory Isaacs in Dub. classic Revolutionaries but not so much Rockers. Also 20th Century DEBwise by Dennis Brown is a very good dub album. I know that Sly and Robbie played on that record, but wether it's true Revolutionaries, i dont know. But all the tracks are killer.
