unknown song

Trying to find a few songs, but dont have much information on them, originally played on kiss radio in 1989.
I had a tape recording but the tape disapeared a few years ago and i have been recently trying to remember them, all i know is that the two songs were pretty good.

1) the main lyrics were something like "hold it down" which may even be the title of the track. Was by a leroy.. i think gibbons, sibbles or smart but not sure, if you know much about these artists you may know the track.

2) distinctive track, had something like "roar like a lion" sounded like something Yami Bolo/Supercat/rootsy mix, but still 80s sounding.

I dont expect to get much info back on these because i dont have a lot of info, but if you guys have any ideas, give me a shout.

Another unknown: I heard it last friday on upfront radio (ADF played it), i know Sir Larsie I has ties to upfront so maybe he'll know..
had lyrics that went: "so many men suffering down there in the dungeons of babylon"

and another track that was on that night but by the live soundsystem on later went:
"while the leaders of the nation they a plan goto war" .... "united we stand, devided we shall fall"

couldnt make out all the words, could give more info on these if you want as its fresh in my head.
