Glennw,

I have various bits of Tony Williams "Rockers FM" from that period as well as some other radio stations including "Sky FM" which I think was a pirate station somewhere near me in South London (probably Peckham). The DJ I remeber from that station was Daddy Big Hat and occasionally they had a very young toaster called Yabba Yout. The tapes tend to be mixed beacause I always had one ready in my recorder and just pressed play for things I liked.

I did tape the Tony Williams Rockers FM DJ Mix Down with the Hi-Tec Crew which was, from memory, either December 1987 or January 1988 and I have transferred that to CD.

PM me if you want to discuss in more detail.

Regards

I have half an hour of the same show on tape (hi tec crew) but the quality is not good, and it has been edited. I'd love to get hold of the whole show if it's the same one. Does it have versions of FP 'In the mood' and Shabba 'Needle Eye'? Could I get hold of a copy? I don't know how to 'PM' anyone though?

It may be the same show. I'll check when I can find where I put the CD.I seem to remember In The Mood but not Needle Eye. I think it started with "Cowboy Style" by Little Clarkie and the Offbeat Posse.

Mine is a good quality FM recording. The DJs were Colonel Mike, Sammy Ranks, Sugar D, Leslie Lyrics & Super B.

Monkey,

Sorry for the delay. I found the CD and I am not sure if it is the same session. The one I recorded includes Cowboy Style - Little Clarkie & The Offbeat Posse as well as these tunes:

Bubble & Rock
Tonight Is The Night
Bad Boy/Dangerous

The latter has a great DJ toast over it about the hurricane force winds that hit London in 1987. The lyrics included " the hurricane it never had no name unless it was destruction, misery and pain" and "Idiot dem say someone mus fe blame - the weatherman so the whole a them shame"

Cheers

Rob
