It is indeed Ken Boothe, though I haven't heard his version of this cut myself yet.

All I know of are only two 7"s Ken Boothe recorded for Tony Robinson in the 70s, one of them titled 'Quiet Place' on the Groovemaster label and though I haven't heard it myself I suggest this is the backing for U Roys version.
