Weed them out-Little Kirk

Post by donstrumental »

I've seen a thread on this before and just seen this tune on ebay for 320 GBP.

What is the deal with this tune and why is it worth so much money?

wow thats going up each week, only two months ago it was going for £150 GBP.
I think its a fashion being up with the jones`s with big deep pockets.
I bought it when it came out on a shocking vibes 7 inch and was asked to swap the 7 inch for the 12" on the Ruddys label, which i did, since he only wanted 7s.
Its also certainly to do with some sellers with 100% feed back are reliable and thats why people stick with them.you may get the same tune from a differant seller who may get half the price of another seller.
Certain tunes they go mad for and the prices are going up even if there are more copies about.
Sharon Little- dont mash up creation -one love 12 is a prime example of prices going up and sold for £155 GBP where as it was going between £80-£120 GBP and that pops up about once a month.

Thanks for the link Vinnie,i agree wicked B line, but still having trouble getting my head around 320 GBP.

Here's my problem,i grew up in dancehalls in the 80's when digital tunes were hot and don't remember Weed them out being that big a tune at the time, for example Little Kirk also had Screechy across the border around the same time and i remember that being a big tune at the time.

Of course i would be happy if i put the tune on ebay and it went for a ridiculous amount of money, but a big tune should be a personal judgement not based on some crazy hiked up price, soon all the wicked tunes are only gonna be owned by some deep pocket
brothers to play on his bang and olufson state of the art hifi and the real music lovers are gonna miss out.

lets weed them out!

if you ask me these kinda tunes are expensive because many people have heard jah shaka play it on his dances

shaka can even make crappy tunes sound good héhé

nowadays to escape from those silly prices you have to trade

i got my weed them out by trade

Its like when the repress of the heptones-everyday life on observer 7" it was better than the original.
Not always are the repress not as good as the original.
Its funny when someone has just paid most of their weeks wages on a tune and the week after its repressed.

But if there is lots of copies around its not that rare which should put the price down, until the record drys up again on the market place and if you see one copy in 5 years then expect to pay top dollors for it.and thats what i dont understand about why people have to have a tune NOW rather than some digging and leg work.

so if jah shaka played lets say ub40 would that mean silly prices or god help us playing amy whineyhouse dubplates.
To do with sound, shaka is a producer and puts his vibe into what ever record hes playing,so its not going to sound the same from the same record cos were not shaka. When weed them out came out it sold vry slowly.
I also think the whole downloading of music needs to be regalated and thats when the good music will turn up again.
